Synopsis

The son of Benkos are descen­dants of escaped slave who founded the first free town in Colom­bia in the early eigh­teenth cen­tury. African cul­ture in Colom­bia view and told through the prism of their music: the sound palen­quero, music from Cubaar­rived in Colom­bia in 1920. The Cham­peta, music exclu­sively ded­i­cated to the poor and dispossessed.
