Synopsis

Ait Menguel­let is undoubt­edly the great­est liv­ing poet and singer in Kabylia (Alge­ria) today. This film, which has the form of a a poetic but aus­tere musi­cal video, illus­trated with pic­tur recall­ing the rural and colour­ful side of Kabylia, is like a kind of tale. Menguel­let and his musi­cians inter­pret their poems and songs as if they were telling a story. They are only inter­rupted by the fre­quent applause and dances of a devoted audi­ence who sing in cho­rus the most pop­u­lar themes.
