Synopsis

Few Parisians still remem­ber Hauss­mann, except per­haps thanks to the crit­i­cism that has been addressed to him: demo­li­tion of his­toric dis­tricts, sup­pres­sion of pop­u­lar upris­ings, exo­dus of the poor to the sub­urbs, huge pub­lic spend­ing etc. How­ever, these pale in com­par­i­son to the phe­nom­e­nal progress due to the work of Hauss­mann: hygiene, traf­fic, light­ing, com­fort… Maybe it’s time to give back to Baron, what belongs to the baron. Let’s take a walk in the city of Paris and its history.
