Synopsis

In Tunisia, the verb to burn has var­i­ous mean­ing. It could mean to burn one’s iden­tity papers, to sneak through the bor­der, to burn inside…

Burn­ing inside is about the dreams and dis­il­lu­sions of all these “burnt” young peo­ple who, before the rev­o­lu­tion, risked their lives to leave their coun­try hop­ing for a bet­ter future.

After the sac­ri­fice of Mohamed Bouaz­izi, who actu­ally burnt him­self thus trig­ger­ing the Tunisian Rev­o­lu­tion, what do these youths, who wanted to leave their coun­try two yeas ago, long for now?
